Nucleofector™ Technology Platforms
Developed in 1998, the Amaxa™ Nucleofector™ Technology has revolutionized transfection. Since then Nucleofection™ has evolved through constant innovation. In 2010 Lonza's Nucleofector Portfolio comprises:
- The new 4D-Nucleofector™ System is the most advanced platform offering maximum flexibility in regards to cell numbers and cell status. For the first time this system enables Nucleofection™ of cells in adherence.
- The 96-well Shuttle™Module is an add-on device compatible with the 4D-Nucleofector™ System. Connected to the 4D-Nucleofector™ System it enables higher throughput and convenient optimization.
- The new HT Nucleofector™ System represents an independent High Throughput system supporting up to 384 Nucleofection™ Reactions in parallel.
- The Nucleofector™ II Device. Based on the original Nucleofector™ Device, this basic instrument enables transfection of difficult-to-transfect cells in a single cuvette. Amaxa™ Vectors
The pmaxFP™ Vectors express novel green (maxFP-Green), yellow (maxFP-Yellow and maxFP-Yellow-m) and red (maxFP-Red) fluorescent proteins. These pmaxFP™ Vectors can be used to:
- Monitor gene expression and protein localization in living mammalian cells
- Generate green, yellow or red fluorescent C- and N-terminal fusion proteins
The pmaxCloning™ Vector promotes strong, constitutive expression of cloned DNA inserts in mammalian cells.
