Cells on Demand™ Cell Culture and Transfection Services
The advancement of assay technologies has enabled the use of live cells in over 50% of high throughput screenings. As a result, cell provision has become a limiting factor for both throughput and quality of cell based screening. Lonza Research Solutions has decades of experience in providing high quality cell products and services, including bulk production of primary cells and cell lines, both unmodified and transfected.
Conditionally Immortalized Cells
By combining the proliferation driving power of ts LT and telomerase to manage cellular senescence, one achieves conditional immortalization. Conditional immortalization allows, at a permissive temperature, production of large, uniform cell populations. By increasing the culture temperature, the cells stop dividing. One then converts to a differentiation medium, so that the cells can express normal differentiated function and phenotype once again.
Now drug discovery researchers have access to an unlimited supply of differentiated cells of the same genotype that can be used as models in drug discovery programs for functional cell-based assays and long-term gene expression studies.
Naïve cells
Lonza Research Solutions is continually looking for new sources of cells, especially those harbouring disease. A broad range of diseased cell types are available, even those considered naïve, or cells from patients who have not been medicated. Such a supply of diseased cells allows researchers the chance to pair disease state cells with Clonetics® Normal Human Cells.
